Chelsea Ladies had an early taste of the Wembley experience\u00a0yesterday (Wednesday) when the players and staff took the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the surroundings of the national stadium. The girls\u00a0are preparing to\u00a0face Notts County on Saturday in the first FA Women\u2019s Cup final to be held at Wembley.<\/span><\/p>\n

Emma Hayes and her side toured the pitch and spent some time in the home dressing room, having been drawn as the home side for Saturday\u2019s final. Afterwards, the manager explained to the official Chelsea website the importance of the visit as part of the match preparations.<\/p>\n

\u2018It\u2019s good for us all to come and get things out of our system before the day of the game,\u2019 she said. \u2018The players get to have a walk around, feel the magnitude of the stadium and have a look at our dressing room.<\/p>\n

\u2018We\u2019ll be working and coaching the players to look inward to the pitch on Saturday and not get too affected by the surroundings; look at the beautiful surface, look at the great players on your team and make sure you\u2019re on the winning side.\u2019<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, vice-captain Gilly Flaherty has urged her team-mates to use the disappointment of back-to-back defeats in the WSL 1 as motivation to lift the first piece of silverware in their history.<\/p>\n

\u2018After the defeat to Man City, we said to ourselves that we needed to put it right quickly and it just so happens that our next game is a cup final at Wembley. It\u2019s been quite a long wait since the semi-final but now it\u2019s starting to sink in a little bit and everyone is getting ready for the occasion.<\/p>\n

\u2018Obviously it\u2019s a great stadium and a great occasion but we just want to win the trophy. Personally, I really want to get my hands on it again and bring it to a new home. For that to happen, we\u2019re going to have to trust ourselves and deal with whatever gets thrown at us.\u2019<\/p>\n
